Blushing At A Thought

MAC MINERLISE SKIN FINISH, LAURA MERCIER SILK CREME FOUNDATION, MAC BLUSH PINCH ME, JEMMA KIDD CREME HIGHLIGHTER, LANCÔME DOLLS EYES MASCARA AND MAC ERA EYESHADOW.

I am not a huge fan of my own face but I LOVE makeup and skin care, I would buy something new everyday if I had the money and as most of you will know from my blog, twitter and instagram (@ambrissa for both) I still enjoy the "occasional" purchase ;-)
I thought I would maybe try and get into the FOTD style posts every once in a while and I have a few lined up for this week so this week will now be FOTW (face of the week), maybe.
I'm trying to minimise the amount of makeup I am wearing just now as my skin is actually looking a bit less blemish-ed (?) I want to go a bit easy on the old foundation and try a more subtle look for summer.
Ive been swapping my double wear for some lighter bases and also just from swapping from a foundation brush to a buffing brush its looking so much more natural. I've also been applying my highlighter and blush with a stippling brush which to be giving a much more natural look and avoiding some over excessive caking of the facing.

Does anybody know of a good oily skin primer? My skin gets so oily at work and it makes me feel so rank.
Please and thanks
Amber x

THIS is my face. Sorry.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow, MAC Crosswires Lipstick, Lancôme Dolls Eyes Mascara and MAC Dainty Blush

Ok so we are in day 2 of my makeup challenge and today I only wore 5 pieces if makeup as you can see. I took this at the end of shift so I look a bit bedraggled and it's in a...ahem... Toilet...classy. You get the general idea though.
I think my mascara had been washed off in the horrendous storm by then as well so really isn't my most flattering picture but I am not the most photogenic of the human race so I took what I got when I got it.
Anyway onto the interesting stuff... Maybe. I wore my Crosswires lipstick today as I don't think it's gets to see the light of day as often as it should because I absolutely love it, for some reason it always seems to get pushed to the back of my collection. I thought it had just enough colour in it to go with my attempt at a natural face.
I am also loving MACs mineralise blushes just now, I'm wearing dainty today and also have gleeful (a dark burnt orangey pink) and the heavenly creatures SuperNova mentioned here. They have such a gorgeous shimmer to them but it's subtle it's just lovely.
I am also using my tester of benefits new flawless foundation which I really like but again I have super oily skin so it's not the easiest for me to wear without having to touch up my face with powder on my lunch break.

Does anybody have any tips for natural makeup or an oily skin remedy???
I would love some input in the comments.
I lost a reader yesterday :( its like being dumped.
Any ideas and or tips for the log would be really appreciated!!!

Dippin and Dryin

Jumper- Topshop
Listening too- Bob Marley- Buffalo Soldier

So I am super sorry for lack of attention to my blog. I'm not adjusting very well to my new job and am just exhausted by the time I get home and want my bed.
The pictures aren't great as I have been doing it from my iPhone and iPad as I've not had a chance to find a white wall for my tripod or the funds for a new camera. Boo.
So another apology for dodgy pictures and being MIA.

So what's new in Amber land... I have finally unpacked so all my clothes are in one place (hallelujah) and I can get ready in the morning without trying to wade through all my bags of clothes to find one pair of tights haha.

I'm missing home but my mum and dad are coming for a visit on Sunday night, I am sooooo excited to see them for a few days BUT of course, I'm working..., I did ask for my days off to be Monday and Tuesday if possible so obviously they would be Sunday and Thursday :-/ oh well mum and dad are going to stay an extra day to see me on Thursday yay, and mum says wheel maybe buy me a new pair of VANS, super yay.

I've been recently using Alpha H Liquid Gold and oh my days it has made such a difference to my skin. Il put a review up soon when I've used it a bit more.
Rambling on a bit but I have so much to say, I think I will do an Instagram post soon and just ramble and ramble on that one but that way you can just loom at the pictures and ignore the rest if needs be.

Also watched Dirty Dancing for FIRST TIME last night. I was missing out, what an ace film!!!!

The iPad isnt working so well for blogging so il try and find Jays MAC and borrow that for a while as my wee DELL is on her last legs. Il try this post on the iPad and see how it goes but will need to get the laptop for the next I reckon.
Any tips on blogging from an iPad??

Cut Me A Caper

Face- Lancome Tient Idole 24
Blush- MAC supernova
Eyes- MAC PAINTPOT groundwork
Watching- Eastenders
So as you have probably seen if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@AMBRISSA) I have been loving MAC recently, even more so than usual.
A while back a collection called Heavenly Creatures was released and I fell head over heels for a lipstick called "Cut A Caper" I kept umming and ahhing over it on the website but I just kept putting it off for some reason, I think it was because I begrudge paying delivery prices and I wasn't getting a chance to go to any of the big cities to get it, THEN the worst happened and the collection finished. HEARTBREAK MUCH!!! Anyway rambling on a bit here, I saw on one of my favorite bloggers pages (gh0stparties) that it was apparently meant to be re-released for summer so I was over the moon when I went to MAC on my lunch break the other day and...there it was, staring at me!!! I swiped it up before anyone could go near it and it was mine...ALL MINE!! I also kept looking back at this blusher from the collection, it was called SUPERNOVA but I talked myself out of it as I always seem to do as I had just bought Dainty recently.
As you can obviously see from the pictures I went back to MAC yesterday with Jay and dragged him round swatching things and ooohing and ahhhing at lots of things, I showed Jay the blusher I had been thinking about and even he said the colour was nice so he very kindly bought me it, awwwwr, I love that guy.
So with my MAC bag and a massive smile on my face I had the lipstick I had been lusting after for so long and a new blusher for collection.
Right onto the important stuff...
I havnt done swatches as I am new to doing beauty posts and the lighting in our room isn't great in the afternoon but here is a swatch for Cut A Caper its about 3 down and Supernova its about 6 down I find Temptalia is the best for swatches for the MAC products she seems to have tried ERRRTHIN.
The blush has an amazing shimmer in it so could easily be used without a highlighter but I used it with one as I automatically put it on without thinking, I reminds me a bit of NARS Super Orgasm as the colour is so strong and the sheen is so fine and lovely, I think this could quite easily be one of my favorite blushers now, add it to the list. The only down fall is this blusher is that it is super easy to go over board with it, I had to redo my makeup the first time because I got a bit heavy handed with the brush but the 2nd time I got it just right and I love it!
Cut A Caper is an amazing peachy coral colour but its not in your face bright coral like Reel Sexy, even though I love that too this one can be worn easier during the day, a quick swipe and your set.
I have very dry lips and find it hard to get lipstick to stay for longer than about half an hour so I was impressed when this was still intact even after I got to work.
Overall I am super happy with both my Heavenly Creature purchases and if your in two minds about getting anything from the collection, snap it up before it goes.
Anymore ideas/advice for what I could or shouldn't include in my beauty related posts would be amazing?

Lost In The Distance

Skirt- Topshop
Blouse- Primark
Belt- Vintage
 Watching- Jay play FIFA
Please excuse the dodgy iphone pic at the bottom, I've been trialing a new makeup/skin care routine and so far so good so I thought I would share but I will try and do a post all about it when I get chance.
Ok so first off I want so a massive sorry for being MIA the last few weeks as you all know (maybe) I've just done a big move down to England. The journey took us 10 hours on Friday and I have never really driven more than 3 hours on my own so 10 was exhausting, I felt like I hadn't even shut my eyes before I was up again to start my new job on the Saturday morning, so as you can imagine the run up to the move was hecktic enough never mind adding in both our graduations to top it all off then starting a new job before i had calmed down from the week befores events I had to say bye to all my friends which was heartbreaking as I thought I had so much more time THEN saying bye to my mum and dad was just even more horrible. Mum cried then made me cry and it went on like that for a few hours while packing the last bits of the flat bearing in mind I had just got back from graduation so was already tired. GAWD!
Anyhoo... I am attempting to do this blogpost on our new IPad (if you follow me on Instagram @ambrissa you will have seen my lovely graduation gifts) so if it goes horribly wrong I apologise although I think ill finish it on my laptop. This is one of the outfits I've worn for my new job training, we have to wear black boo. Yet another quick post to say hey and I am alive I do have a couple of posts that I've managed to take pictures for but as you can imagine I have nowhere that I quite think my tripod will go quite yet as its all still very up in arms.
At some point this week I'll do a long post with lots of Instagram pics to catch y'all up on the life of Amber and the outfits that went with it ha.
So until then thanks for being patient and heeeeey new followers :)
Is there anything anyone would like to see more of on my blog?
